The development of the economy of each city and state is impossible without innovations and modern technologies. Therefore, Kyiv City Government, in cooperation with the community and business, stimulates the introduction of innovations for the further development of our city. This was stated by the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko during a speech at the opening of the Kyiv Investment Forum - 2018.
"Kyiv is the heart of Ukraine, a city that shows an example of change and transformation in the country. The European capital, which embodying today's contemporary world trends in urban development and the latest technology. In the renewed Development Strategy by 2025, one of the priorities is precisely the development of innovative high value-added economic sectors. This includes, in particular, the deregulation of entrepreneurial activity, transparent and equal conditions for doing business, protecting investments, and economic incentives for attracting employers. Cooperation between business and science is also important, and it works successfully in the developed countries of the world, " the mayor noted.
He recalled that more than 60 percent of all foreign investment in Ukraine in recent years came precisely to the capital. Because in Kyiv there are the most leading specialists of different industries: industry, information technology, trade, real estate, finance.
Kyiv, as Vitali Klitschko emphasized, today is one of the leaders of the IT industry among the cities of Eastern Europe.
Hug Mingarelli, Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine, noted significant progress of Ukraine and, in particular, Kyiv in attracting investments.
According to him, the Association Agreement with the EU can help to solve the problem of ensuring financial stability and attracting foreign investments. The main thing, Hug Mingarelli said, is to adhere to the rule of law, good governance, transparency, and fair rules for business.
"Over the past four years, significant progress has been made in the country, and especially in Kyiv. From the public procurement system to macro-financial stability, from the health care system to the pension system, from education to the energy sector. We all know that much has been done. We see the great potential of the Ukrainian capital, where large scientific resources are concentrated. The main thing is to use these resources in the right way", - said the head of the EU office in Ukraine.
