New metro cars are being purchased for Municipal Enterprise "Kyivsky Metropolitan" on a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In particular, a €50 million loan to Municipal Enterprise 'Kyivsky Metropolitan' to finance the procurement of 50 metro cars. The corresponding decision was supported by deputies of the Kyiv city council.
Kyiv City Council deputies approved the Loan Agreement, Contract of guarantee, compensation and support of the project and the Agreement on Debt Repayment, concluded this year in preparation for the investment project "Modernization of Kyiv City Transport II".
"The city continues the procedure of obtaining new metro cars on a loan from the EBRD. Let me remind you that 50 metro cars are purchasing in 2 lots: 5 trains with separate cars and 5 trains - with the inter-vehicle passage. The tender procedure takes place on the EBRD platform. The first stage is now completed. The proposals of the participants are being processed", - said Viktor Brahinskyi, Director of Municipal Enterprise "Kyivsky Metropolitan".
We will remind you that in February this year, the city council has provided guarantees for Kyiv EBRD loan to finance the procurement of new metro cars. According to Volodymyr Repik, Director of the Finance Department, the implementation of this investment project will have a tangible effect in the short term and will provide an opportunity to improve transport services for Kyiv residents and guests of the capital.
