An investor-funded pre-school will be built in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital to replace an emergency non-residential building. The decision to start preparations for the investment tender was made by the deputies of the Kyiv City Council during today's meeting. This was reported by the Department of Economics and Investments of the Kyiv City State Administration.

It is about resolving property issues regarding the building A-1 at 29-A Lukianivska Street, which belongs to the communal property of the Kyiv territorial community. Until 2008, the building was used as a dormitory building of the special boarding school No. 8. Currently, this school continues to function as an educational institution, and the building to be demolished is not used for its intended purpose due to significant physical deterioration of the premises.

According to the Department, major repairs to the building are inexpedient, as the supporting structures are in a state of disrepair. Therefore, the most efficient way is to demolish and then build a new educational institution. At the same time, the demolition of a municipal property is possible only after certain conditions are met. These include determining the winner of an investment tender, entering into an investment agreement with them, and reimbursing the investor for the cost of the facility to be demolished.

The concept of the investment project envisages that the future investor will bear all the costs of demolishing the old building and constructing a new preschool education facility. At the same time, it is prohibited to change the functional purpose of the investment object for the duration of the investment agreement.

According to the indicative technical and economic indicators of the project, the building will have three floors, with a total capacity of 113 children in groups. Six group playgrounds are planned to be located on the territory of the preschool education institution.
