A science and technology park "Akadem.City" will be created in the capital - a modern open innovation space. The memorandum of understanding regarding the creation of the park was signed by representatives of the KMDA and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The conclusion of the Agreement and the Memorandum will allow to direct the joint efforts and scientific and technical potential of the scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, located in Kyiv, to solving urgent issues of socio-economic, industrial and scientific and technical development, increasing the competitiveness of our capital.

"Combining university and academic science with the business environment is a global experience that we use in Kyiv. We want to create informational and infrastructural conditions to strengthen the role of science and science-intensive technologies in the sustainable development of the city. This will help create new jobs, attract foreign and national investments, and increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian high-tech products. In addition, the implementation of this project will allow to increase the share of investments in the production sphere of Kyiv and more actively introduce new energy-saving technologies", - said the first deputy head of the KMDA Mykola Povoroznyk.

He also added that the concept of the scientific and technological park "Academ.City" was developed by a German-Ukrainian team of scientists within the framework of a joint project of the Kyiv Academic University, the University named after Humboldt, Technopark "Adlershof-Berlin" and is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Federal Republic of Germany.
