Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko met with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at the capital city hall. Currently, in cooperation with the EBRD, the capital is implementing several important projects. In particular, under the "Green Cities" program. Vitaliy Klitschko discussed further cooperation with EBRD representatives.

"The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is a long-standing and reliable partner of Kyiv. Back in 2019, Kyiv joined the EBRD "Green Cities" program. We implement projects aimed at solving climate change and environmental issues. Within the framework of this program, the city implements projects for a total amount of 320 million euros. In particular, "Modernization of urban transport of Kyiv II". 180 million euros are earmarked for the renewal of public transport rolling stock.Of these, 50 million euros are allocated to metro cars, and 60 million euros to trams. 10 million euros for the complex reconstruction of the tram line and the Kontraktova Ploshcha stop, and 60 million euros for the capital repair of the Metro bridge roadways. The beneficiaries of the project are KP "Kyivskyi metropoliten", KP "Kyivpastrans" and KK "Kyivavtodor". Also, with the support of the EBRD, the capital authorities are implementing the project "Modernization of the centralized heating system of Kyiv" - worth 140 million euros. In particular, it is about the modernization of the equipment of CHP-5, CHP-6, reconstruction of 8 large boiler houses. Overhaul of heating networks, closure of 45 small inefficient boiler houses with reconnection of consumers. Creation of a system of remote collection and analysis of information," said Vitaliy Klitschko.

He emphasized that Kyiv strives to continue the implementation of the "Green City" Action Plan. City officials are currently at EBRD headquarters in London for working meetings on green bonds, e-mobility and climate change adaptation to work out next steps.

The mayor of Kyiv thanked the leadership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development that in this difficult time for Ukraine, the EBRD supports development projects, the implementation of which is very important for the Ukrainian capital.
