Vitaliy Klitschko met with the mayor of Hamburg and discussed the further assistance of German partners to Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko met with Hamburg Mayor Peter Chencher. He thanked Hamburg for its support and assistance to the Ukrainian capital. Already today, three city buses provided by German partners are on their way to Kyiv. The mayor of Hamburg assured of further assistance to Kyiv - both in the current most urgent needs and in the future reconstruction of the capital of Ukraine. Vitaliy Klitschko wrote about this on his Facebook page.

They also discussed with Mr. Peter Chencher the assistance of German partners in providing Kyiv with emergency communication systems (in case of power outages). "They are necessary today, in particular, for ambulance stations, rescuers, and communal services," Vitaliy Klitschko said. He added that the safety of its residents is a very important issue for Kyiv today. The capital needs equipment for the latest public address system, which has already begun to be installed. This is a system for announcing an air alert. To develop this system, the city needs more devices that work autonomously when there is no light.

"An example of the system that Kyiv is establishing now is, in particular, the German system. The mayor of Hamburg assured of further assistance to Kyiv - both in the current most urgent needs and in the future reconstruction of the capital of Ukraine. Volodymyr and I also spoke with the German mass media and called on both the German authorities and German society to further support Ukraine and provide all the necessary assistance for our victory and the establishment of peace in Europe," Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized.

As a reminder, Kyiv and Hamburg became strategic partners and agreed on support in times of crisis and signed the "Agreement for Solidarity and the Future" on April 24, 2022.
