Quarantine measures and, as a result, disruption of export-import trade flows in many countries around the world have led to a rapid reorientation to the local producer. That is why the localization of the economy will be the main topic of this year's Investment Forum of Kyiv. This was reported in the Department of Economics and Investment of the Kyiv City State Administration.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated the importance of developing and supporting local producers, creating an efficient supply chain to the final consumer, especially against the background of stopping or restricting traffic flows between countries. For the sake of economic security, cities should be able to operate autonomously and produce essential goods on their own. This means that local entrepreneurs will need to focus on several business segments at once: from raw materials to the producer and from the producer to the final consumer", - said the event organizers.
"Go local. Think Global”- this is the slogan of several thematic discussions within the Investment Forum of the city of Kyiv. In particular, they will concern the rethinking of the local infrastructure and economy of the Kyiv region, strategies of anti-crisis development of the city, and support of local producers. In the part of the forum dedicated to entrepreneurship, the program of the event also includes a presentation of successful cases of Kyiv region entitled "Business and its impact on the development of local communities."
The forum will pay special attention to the implementation of educational programs for local communities on the importance of consuming local goods for economic and sustainable development of the region.
The investment forum of the city of Kyiv will take place in September 2020, but its holding and format will depend on the epidemic situation in the country and the world. It is planned that the forum will be attended by global experts, large investors, top managers, opinion leaders, as well as representatives of government and local communities.
