The capital is working to expand international ties to restore and develop the city. This was emphasized by the First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Mykola Povoroznyk during a meeting with the Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Ira Eisenbrand and the head of the cluster of Dutch companies "Reconstruction of Ukraine" Ruslan Shcherbyna.
During the meeting, they discussed the main areas of the city's life, where international support is necessary and important.
"The city is looking to the future, and we are already predicting which industries should adapt to the current conditions. Today, our priority is medicine and rehabilitation. In particular, we are talking about providing medical and psychological assistance to the military personnel who are currently defending our country. This includes improving the provision of prosthetic services and further rehabilitation. A separate area is psychological assistance to children who have experienced the fears of war. There are already more than 42,000 children of internally displaced persons living in the capital, and many of them need such help," said Mykola Povoroznyk.
He added that the city is also working to improve the civil protection system.
"Last year alone, the number of civilian protective structures in Kyiv increased by 398 shelters. This increase was due to the modernization of the simplest shelters. The city is also working to modernize its warning system. In particular, the first objects of the reconstructed system - 15 warning points - have already been tested in the Desnianskyi district of the capital. In total, 630 warning points are to be installed in Kyiv. Today, these works are ongoing, and we will be grateful for assistance in these areas as well," said Mykola Povoroznyk.
The participants also discussed the need to renew the fleet of rescue and ambulance vehicles.
Special attention was paid to the restoration and modernization of the housing and utilities sector: electricity, water, heat and other utilities in the capital.
