The award recognizes the world's best examples of sustainable urban development, which are the results of a collaboration between the governmental, private, and public sectors. We are talking about cooperation in the following areas: urban regeneration and public spaces; construction of innovative buildings; sustainable city food systems; addressing climate change and reducing pollution; planning and management of urban infrastructure.
Potential candidates for the award may be national and regional governments, city administrations and their associations, NGOs, international agencies, community associations, research institutes, private and public funds, media, and individuals. The total prize pool is 1 million USD.
The awarding ceremony will take place at the Dubai Expo 2020.
