The Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko signed a Memorandum with the French company Veolia Central & Eastern Europe S.A. about cooperation in the field of solid household waste management.

Vitaliy Klitschko also added that Kyiv seeks to work with international companies with successful experience in implementing waste management projects. Veolia Group is one of the world leaders in the development of solutions for the management of water supply, waste, and energy.

The capital has clear plans for the gradual departure from the technology of garbage disposal - both from outdated and environmentally hazardous techniques.

At the moment, Kyiv is preparing its own regional waste management plan, which will complement the National Waste Management Strategy.
