"First of all, I would like to thank our partners from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for supporting the implementation of many projects in Kyiv. As well as the team of ATKINS consultants for cooperation, exchange of experience and work in the development of the Green City Action Plan for Kyiv, - said Vitaliy Klitschko. "Today, the Kyiv authorities are implementing measures aimed at the socio-economic development of the capital, taking into account environmental safety and reducing the negative impact on the environment, as provided by the Kyiv City Development Strategy until 2025".

The mayor of the capital reminded that Kyiv joined the EBRD Green Cities Program in 2019 - to implement "green" projects. Thus, the capital, together with the team of ATKINS consultants involved by the EBRD, is developing a Green City Action Plan that will meet the environmental needs of the city and the residents of the metropolis. In addition, the implementation of the Action Plan will allow implementing projects to develop transport infrastructure and modernize the district heating system.

"Work on the Action Plan began a year ago, and we can already talk about the results achieved and consider a shortlist of activities under this Plan. Given a large amount of work done and the number of intermediate documents, a large number of comments from the city and the public, we are pleased with the result and express our support for the whole process, - said Vitaliy Klitschko. - We support the list of measures under the Action Plan and have a proposal to specify and supplement the measures in areas that are being discussed or are already being implemented in cooperation with our international partners. For example, we propose to supplement the TR-02 transport unit with measures to develop the subway system, repair and reconstruction of bridges in Kyiv. Because updating the city's infrastructure is a very important direction in our work".
