"Today, we give a clear signal to the neighboring communities to unite for mutually beneficial cooperation. Boryspil, Vasylkiv, Obukhiv, Gostomel, Zazimie village council of Brovarskyi district, Novopetrovsk village council have already supported the creation of the association "Kyiv agglomeration". Consultations are ongoing with those communities that are in the process of consideration of association. Such cooperation between the capital and the surrounding cities will accelerate the development of the region, its infrastructure, increase the investment attractiveness of Greater Kyiv. We are so interconnected in the labor force, infrastructure, other factors. I will note that about half a million people come to Kyiv every day! Such associations - agglomerations, metropolises - exist all over the world and they have shown their effectiveness”, - the Mayor stressed.
Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized that today the big cities are driving the development of the world economy. Governments in Europe are increasingly aware of the importance of metropolitan areas as key focal points for national economic growth, good governance, and service delivery.
“The Kyiv region is one of the largest European metropolitan areas with a total population of over 4 million people. Therefore, we have all the conditions for further development. I will note that Kyiv, as a center of agglomeration, occupies the leading positions among the regions of Ukraine in most indicators of socio-economic development. Forming more than 20 percent of the gross domestic product in recent years”, - Vitaly Klitschko emphasized.
He noted that the capital is changing and developing, making all management processes open and transparent, creating a comfortable environment for local people and business development.

Just last year 200,000 people from other regions of the country moved to the capital. And, of course, Kyiv is the country's leader in socio-economic development. For the fourth consecutive year”, - the mayor stressed.
