Vitaliy Klitschko held an online meeting with the mayors of the countries that signed the Joint Declaration

The Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko together with the Mayor of Brussels Philippe Close talked online from Kyiv with the mayors of 15 European cities, signatories of the joint "Declaration on Mutual Understanding in Support of the Reconstruction and Sustainable Development of Kyiv". The Ukrainian capital and a number of European cities concluded this document in November last year following the results of the Kyiv Investment Forum held in Brussels.

"In November last year, the Kyiv Investment Forum was held in Brussels. It was the mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, who proposed to organize it and gather potential investors who want to help Kyiv and Ukraine. As a result of the forum, the Ukrainian capital and many European cities signed a joint "Declaration on mutual understanding in support of the reconstruction and sustainable development of Kyiv". During today's online meeting with the signatories of this document, we discussed projects for the implementation of which Kyiv needs international support," Vitaliy Klitschko said.

He noted that Kyiv directs significant funds from the city budget to finance critical infrastructure projects. In particular, for construction and repair works. However, the issue of meeting the needs for modern equipment and the introduction of the latest technologies in various fields remains open. And international support is very important in this. Among the priorities of the metropolitan government are the rehabilitation of war victims, the development of medicine, energy and environmental security, civil protection of the population, education, and the communal sphere.

"In particular, among the projects, the implementation of which is very important today, is the creation of a modern rehabilitation center for war victims on the basis of the capital's medical institution and the training of highly qualified specialists in sports rehabilitation of wounded soldiers. And also - the creation of a modern rehabilitation center to provide social and rehabilitation services to Kyiv residents with disabilities, children's rehabilitation, improvement of medical care for bone marrow transplantation, creation of a skin cultivation laboratory. We also take care of the safety of the population, we are working on the modernization of the notification system. The rolling stock of Kyiv's public transport and municipal equipment also needs updating," Vitaliy Klitschko stressed.

He emphasized that the capital authorities strive to make the city as comfortable and safe as possible for people. All large-scale specialized projects are very difficult to implement without the support of international partners and entrepreneurs.

"I want to emphasize: we are not asking for funds, we are not talking about the amount of money we need. We are talking about specific subject aid. Whichever you direct, you will control its use and application," Vitaliy Klitschko said.

Having presented the projects, the mayor of Kyiv called on the signatories of the "Declaration on Mutual Understanding in Support of the Reconstruction and Sustainable Development of Kyiv" to participate in their implementation and contribute to the involvement of business structures of European countries in supporting strategically important projects for Kyiv.
